Stephanie Coleman

Stephanie Coleman began working with the firm in 2007.  During her tenure here, she has provided insight and guidance as General Counsel to businesses throughout East Tennessee. As a trusted resource for clients, she reviews contracts, assists in collections, advises on employment law issues related to ADA, FLSA, FMLA, and unemployment claims, forms and dissolves companies, and establishes measures for succession planning.  She also drafts employee handbooks, policy and procedure manuals, affirmative action plans, and serves as a resource to ensure compliance with local and federal laws and regulations.

Stephanie also extensively represents local government entities. While working with the City of Alcoa, West Knoxville Utility District, Smoky Mountain Tourism Development Authority, Knox County Retirement and Pension Board, and the City of Rocky Top, she advises at board meetings, defends litigation, reviews contracts, revises policies and procedures, and represents creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. Currently, she serves as the City Attorney for the City of Alcoa and as the Delinquent Property Tax Attorney for Alcoa and Rocky Top.

While in law school, Stephanie was named to the Order of Barristers, achieved Dean’s List, and argued for the Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Team at the national competition in New York.  She is a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law class of 2014 and holds a rating of AV Preeminent, which is the highest peer rating standard awarded by Martindale Hubbell.

Stephanie is from Lenoir City, Tennessee, where she lives now with her husband and two children.  She currently serves as commissioner on the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education, the Historian for the East Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women, is a member of the Knoxville Symphony League, and is a member of the Leadership Blount class of 2023.
