Felicia’s heart had always been drawn to seniors and the special issues they face each and every day. Recognizing a legal need for service with seniors, Felicia began to focus her practice on elder law with an emphasis on estate planning in 2010. She now concentrates her practice in the matters of probate including litigation and administration, simple and complex estate planning, elder law, conservatorships and business transitions. Felicia is proud to be a partner in a law firm with an excellent reputation that works tirelessly to be of benefit to its clients and the community.
Felicia Coalson came to us in 2015 with a wealth of legal background and experience. Felicia began her legal career as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Memphis. She enjoyed the challenges that came with being part of a large municipal legal team. She both defended the city and advised the multiple departments and boards for the city. She advised the Emergency Management Agency, Finance, Pension, Engineering, Alcohol Commissions, Public Works, Police, and Fire Departments. Felicia was also instrumental in the establishment and implementation of a new tax collection system for the City of Memphis.
Felicia and husband, Jeff Coalson, Senior Vice President of Fifth Third Bank were blessed with a set of twins in 2002, and their growing family encouraged them to come back home to Knoxville. She opened a creditor’s bankruptcy office here in Knoxville then worked with Bond, Botes & Lawson on the debtor bankruptcy side of the law. Upon a sweeping redrafting of the bankruptcy law, Felicia spent several years principally practicing in the area of Real Estate Law, which has given her a depth of understanding in relation to estate planning that benefits her clients.
